ALL IS LOVE

my grown up christmas list….

consists only of one thing really - the Nook Tablet. After much research and playing around at the local Barnes and Noble I’ve decided on this little gem. I hope to goodness I’ve been good enough to receive it. If not, it will be okay, but it would be awesome. =) I’ve said for years that I’d never use an e-reader. I love the feeling of a paperbound book. How it smells. The whole experience. But over the past year the pile of books on my night stand has grown to a rather ridiculous size. Ton-o-clutter. I’ve morphed into one of those readers that bounces back and forth reading multiple books at once and with all the baby books that have come into my life - it’s just become too much. Here’s to hoping!

And in closing - for fun - I’d like to post some images of Dylan’s Christmas list. Not that a 4 month old even knows what Christmas is, but it gives us a chance to buy him some new toys for his upcoming development and what not. So fun!

an update in pictures.

So I haven’t posted in months, but as you can see below we’ve been pretty busy with a new little bundle of joy. Dylan turned 4 months old today and I just can’t believe how fast he’s growing. Each day it seems like he’s picking up something new. He’s got quite the personality too. An overall cool dude. We’re so in love. I’m going to try and do a better job of posting now that I’m better adjusted to mommyhood and learning to multi-task all over again. We shall see how that goes. Thanks to all of you over the past few months with your well wishes and kind words. God is so very good. I say it all the time now, but we are truly blessed. Love you all.

my succulent garden

So I spoke way too soon about the whole no posting/MIA deal. Work is slow this afternoon so I decided to post a photo of my first succulent garden I created during my lunch break today. I absolutely LOVE succulents. They have such a unique beauty that is so subdued, yet boldly attractive at the same time. My little garden is rather bare in comparison to most ones you see, but I intend to add to it over time. I just want to make sure I can keep these little babies alive in their new home. In the garden I’ve added some Jet Beads, Hen and Chicks, a Baby Jade and a Cola Cola. I killed my first Trailing Jade last summer from over watering so I MUST be careful and remind myself that these guys are not very thirsty and they’re not high maintenance. They just need lots of sun. I’ll definitely add new pictures when I add to it, but for now - I think it’s b-e-a-utiful just the way it is.

Happy Wednesday!

our bags are packed and we’re ready to go….

So we’ve moved into the home stretch. 37 weeks as of last Friday. 37 weeks also means that I’m now officially considered “full term”. =D This past week we went in for our last ultrasound to measure and look over all of his anatomy development and everything still looks great. We have a big boy on our hands - already weighing approximately 6 lbs. and 12 oz. and we still have 3 weeks left! There is a chance little D may come a little early, but who knows. Boy are we ready!

I’ve enjoyed this pregnancy. No big issues so far. Time has flown. Occasional sleepness nights, some back pain here and there and some swelling, but all and all - it hasn’t been bad at all. However I’m happy to see the end nearing. I think more so than anything else I’m just really ready to have my body back to myself and to actually see our little sweet pea that’s been pushing, kicking and hiccuping inside me all of these months. The last week or so he’s been pushing with extreme force. So extreme I can’t help, but imagine him breaking on through. =) Anywho - did I mention already that WE ARE READY?!?! =D Emotionally and physically. Dylan’s bag and my bag are packed (Nathan is putting off his packing =) ). All of Dylan’s clothes are washed. The nursery/room is ready. The carseat is installed and every swing, play yard and cradle in our house is assembled. We’re just waiting for a little wee baby to arrive! I know there is much that we are not “ready” for based on the fact that you’re never fully ready to be a first time parent, but we’re as ready as we can be I guess. We’ll be learning so much within the next few weeks and couldn’t be more excited.

So as I stated before - Dylan’s room is finally COMPLETE!! YAY!! I’m so glad that I can say it’s officially done. I’m pretty happy with the outcome and wanted to share some of the completion photos below. If you want to see the full slideshow of the pictures I took - click here.

So who knows - there may be more posts within the next few weeks or we may be having a baby before the next post comes. I have a weird feeling we’re not going to make it to week 40, BUT there is no telling. If this is my last post for a while - stay tuned for sweet cute and cuddly baby photos to come.

love you all.

a nesting phase

Though our week days are crazy and there is still plenty of baby to-dos to get checked off through the month of June - I feel myself starting to “nest”. In addition to preparing the homestead for our little on the way - I also have the sudden urge to shift into relax mode. Maybe our beach trip last week got me started. Who knows! I’ll be posting more photos of Dylan’s room hopefully within the month once everything is up and complete, but until then I wanted to blog about some other interests. I know some of you are probably relieved! Each summer while mine and Nathan’s favorite shows have wrapped up for the season we usually rent a few others that we’re either behind on or have yet to watch. We’ll sit with the curtains drawn and all the lights out on Sunday afternoons and plow through a whole disc of episodes. Last summer LOST pretty much consumed our weekends. And it was AMAAAAAAZZZZZING! Well this summer we’re about to plow through a few others. Top picks - Mad Men Season 1 and Modern Family Season 1. We’ve heard SO many great things about these two, but just don’t have the room for them among all the other shows we watch in the fall/spring. In addition we’ll be re-watching the Arrested Development seasons on instant stream since they never get old. =) Gotta love it. Seriously - one of the best comedy series there ever was.

In addition - I’ve prepared my summer reading list filled with the books included below. I’ll go ahead and say upfront that I most likely will not finish half of these - especially “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” because let’s face it - it’s a LARGE book, but I sure will try. Either way - I’ll get to them eventually. Half way through “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” and “Becoming Jane Eyre”.
